SEACAUCUS, N.J. (KMTV) Former Omaha Roncalli baseball standout Alec Bohm was selected 3rd overall by the Philadelphia Phillies in the first round of the MLB Draft on Monday night.
Bohm just finished his junior season at Wichita State, where he hit .339 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI.
As a junior in high school, Bohm hit .526 and .533 as a senior.
In his first season with the Shockers, Bohm was a 1st team freshman All-American according to Collegiate Baseball.
Bohm becomes the highest drafted player from Nebraska since Alex Gordon went #2 overall in 2005 to the Royals.
