BELLEVUE (KMTV) — Iowa Hawkeyes wide receiver commit Keagan Johnson is just focused on his senior year for now at Bellevue West High School.
His T-Birds team is trying to win back to back Class A state championships this fall.
"I'm only worried about this season," said Johnson. "I have my future decided and I'm glad I made the decision when I did."
"The neatest thing about Keagan Johnson is he is a team player," said head coach Michael Huffman. "I'll be real honest with you: Iowa Hawkeyes love that. Keagan's been an outstanding leader. Being hungry, being the first in lines, being tough. That's another thing: some of these real fancy kids aren't the toughest guys in the world cause they're worried about how pretty they look. Keagan Johnson's all about the grit as well."
Johnson & the T-Birds take on their crosstown rival Bellevue East to open their season on Friday.
