PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) The Papillion-LaVista South football team won its final three games of the regular season last year to make the playoffs. Now if the Titans want to return to the postseason, they know they'll need senior leadership.
"We lost a lot of good players last year so we just got to put in the work to be the best team we can be this year," said senior cornerback Chase Nordblade.
Tim Clemenger's club will try to improve on a 4-6 record from last season.
"A couple of buddies of mine, the seniors, sat down together and we decided that we needed to do a little more," said senior safety and receiver Micke McClanahan.
The Titans return five starters on each side of the ball, including running back Chandler Cotton.
"If you've got a good leadership at the player level then you're going to have a real good team," said senior Ed Rosenthal. "So we tried to do that as much as we could."
Papillion-LaVista South opens the season against crosstown rival Papillion-LaVista on Friday August 24.
